How to Be Successful at Affiliate Marketing

To day I will teach you How to Be Successful at Affiliate Marketing

Just like many other people affiliate marketing is how I have created a steady stream of income. There are many people that use affiliate marketing as a second source of income; I on the other hand can truly label myself as a full time internet marketer.

This has been a 6 year learning curve, but it has been worth every second . Internet marketing can be considered a “hit and miss” type of business. This is something that takes certain skills, mindsets, and a financial investment. The truth is most new affiliate marketers waste the majority of their start-up budget on things that don’t work and have proven to be unnecessary for their success.

How to Be Successful at Affiliate Marketing

Here are the most important things you need to know to be a successful affiliate marketer:

1. How to Generate Traffic

2. How to Choose the Best Offers to Promote

In order to make this clear I have to share my story. Being new at affiliate marketing, I put a lot of money into software and other products that promised me success that I never received. “Buy some my programs and…” Don’t get me wrong, I am not against people educating others on how to become affiliate marketers; I am doing the same thing. My issue is people getting away from the core principles that helped them become successful in affiliate marketing. If you do choose to spend money on a certain course, just make sure that it actually teaches things like SEO and other techniques to help you generate traffic to your links. Although we all like a good pep talk here and there, it’s not worth spending your money on. Ok back to the information you really want.

Getting the Traffic You Need

With affiliate marketing traffic is the life of your business. This is more important than what you’re selling. How is this true? It’s simple, a lot of times you make your money off the traffic and not always from the sale. Where can you generate traffic? There are things called organic searches, Google Ad Words, Email Marketing, YouTube and more. No matter what platform you choose, be an expert at it and learn all there is to learn.

How Do You Know What Offers to Promote

When you have a solid plan on what you are going to promote it will help you increase your success as an affiliate marketer. There are some products that will have a bad conversion rate no matter what you do. Pick products and offers that create solutions to people’s problems. This requires that you pay attention to the conversations people are having and the things they are complaining about. Finding products that create solutions to these problems are things you know are sure to sell.

So to recap the big secret to affiliate marketing success is to find out what the people need, and promote it by generating traffic. Traffic and a solid product equals affiliate success and the ability to carry my title as a full-time affiliate marketer.

Marketing E-Mails Your Clients Want to Click

How do you stay out of your customers’ spam inbox and get your customers to click on your e-mails? A recent study by Constant Contact looked at more than 2.1 million customer e-mails that were sent to more than 100 recipients over a 13 week time span to find out which e-mails had the highest click-through rate.

Overall, e-mails with three or fewer images and about 20 lines of text tended to have the highest open rates among e-mail subscribers.

Evaluating by industry, Constant Contact researchers found that real estate professionals saw the highest click-through rates when their messages were limited to around 35 lines of text. Also, the e-mails that were specific to new listings tended to get the highest click-through rates.

Ron Cates, director of digital marketing education for Constant Contact, emphasizes that to get higher click-through rates, e-mails should be concise, to-the-point, accurate (avoid misleading readers by using words or jargon that don’t offer a clear representation of your message), and courteous.

“While every brand and business has their own ‘voice’ in terms of communication, the general rule of thumb is to keep it nice and friendly,” writes Nicole Leinbach Reyhle, author of “Retail 101: The Guide to Managing and Marketing Your Retail Business,” in an article for Forbes.com. “Sure, you can offer a sassy twist if that’s your style, but keeping it courteous is always in style, as well.”

Watching your click-through rates on your e-mails is important in judging the success of your campaigns.

“Click-through rates are perhaps the truest measurement of the quality of an email’s content and its effectiveness as a marketing tool,” Christopher M. Litster, senior vice president, sales and marketing at Constant Contact, told Forbes.com. “Regardless of industry or customer base, click-through rates convey how often you are able to get your e-mail subscribers to go where you want them to go and complete your call-to-action. This new research is a big step forward in helping small businesses craft e-mail content that will result in even more successful campaigns going forward.”

This article from The Online Master is about: how to build a website, how to get started in affiliate marketing, dos and don’t of website building

If you want to have a business online, you need to build a website. A website helps to promote your products, as well as, identifies you on the Internet. When I created my website, I went on the premise of “wanting to learn how to do it” as I experience the essence of building my business. I realize now, that even though I learned quite a bit, it did slow my progress down. Read on, I’ll tell you want I mean.

A Little History First

After attempting to do typing on the Internet — you’re right — my first newbie scam. It wasn’t a true scam, because I was paid. However, I put in long hours for very, very little pay. Does that read green, naive newbie all over it? Yes, I’m afraid it does. Needless to say, I gave that up and began looking for something that would give me a viable income — affiliate marketing was the answer. Thus, my adventure began.

Getting a Web host and Domain

Well, after much reading, I realized I needed to get a web host and a domain if I was looking for a long-haul attempt at making it in affiliate marketing. I found a pretty good web host, paid for my domain — And, now I was ready to build my website…

My first advise here is — If you are inexperienced in web construction and you want a quick presence online, I would go with a web host that has web tools which includes Site Studio. It saves you time, money and gets you up and moving quickly.

Building My Website

I decided to use FrontPage (with a dash of HTML) to create my website — in my first attempt. Well, my first attempt was beyond words — no one wanted to hurt my feelings — the website was beyond bad and the color was what I call Medicine Yellow. But I was still in the glow, and I must say, working

with blinders on. (This was my first mistake, my knowledge was limited — I should have utilized Site Studio that was available to me.)

Needless to say, my first attempt did not stay up long. I went back to work, restructuring my ugly site — my second attempt. I changed the color to a dark green with a base of gray. At the time it looked good, I thought. I actually got, “you’re improving” from a friend. But somehow, it looked, well –downtrodden.

Third restructuring came when — after a year, I came upon an article that stated, “if you are using Times Roman — even though it is easy to read, it reads amateur all over it.” My first internal thought was, “Crap, I’ve got to do my website over again.”

So, once again, I began restructuring my site. This time around, I decided to go with a lighter green for my website (just as well, I was going to have to change everything anyway), revamped by Google Ads (4 times), and changed the lettering to “Arial”.

By the way, it has been said that either “Georgia” or “Arial” are the two fonts that will give your website a professional look. And you know — they were right. After changing from “Times Roman” to “Arial” — it gave my website a cleaner and more professional look.

Color as well, is important to your website — it is part of your total presentation of your site to prospective visitors. How important is color — if they don’t like it, they are just a click away from removing your site from their vision.

After all the overhauling and tweaking of my website, I believe it is now presentable, brighter and personable to my visitors. However, I, as well as you, should realize that you are never done with your website. You should always be looking at ways to improve the appearance, products, and service available to your visitors.

Becoming An Affiliate

You cannot be an affiliate marketer without affiliate products. With that being said, you can start your journey as an affiliate marketer by looking at the following sites for items that fit your theme and of which you can make a commission.

Commission Junction

ClickBank

BeFree

Now, don’t be disappointed if some of the vendors turn you down in the beginning — after you have your website up for a while, you will find that some vendors will be dropping you an email and requesting that you sell their product for them. It’s flattering, however, be sure that you can blend it nicely into your website theme.

Getting Your Feet Wet

The water may be cold, tepid, or hot — it depends on your skill level when you begin your journey online (I believe my feet were in the cold phase when I started) — but you have to get your feet wet. Do your research, get all your ducks in a roll, and begin your journey. If you sit on the fence too long, you will never jump in.

Get what Internet tools you can, read all that you can, and stay positive, even if it means you have to step away from your computer for a day or two to regroup your thoughts.

As you can see from my experience, I jumped in, had some setbacks, some disappoints, but also some individual triumphs. The most important thing to remember is to close your mind to your own negative thoughts, and the negative words of those around you. Why? They can cripple you, and slow or even end your journey toward success.

If you know in your gut, that what you are doing will succeed — say nothing — just keep on keeping on. Soon, the naysayers will be saying something positive.

Top 5 social media marketing trends to dominate 2015

Social media is present in many people’s everyday lives. In fact, there are many who cannot survive without it. Their first thought in the morning is to check the latest updates. This has led to a rise in the need for social media marketing. The following five are likely to dominate this coming year:

1. Ello

Ello is a new social media platform and looks set to go head to head with Facebook. It has deliberately taken a very anti-Facebook stance. It emphasizes the fact that it is ad free and that it will never sell its users details to another party. This new platform is currently by invite only. At present it may not offer the full level of tools that a Facebook user can enjoy but it is pushing an ethical stance far superior to Facebook’s. Despite this it has the potential to grow in 2015 and potentially mount a serious challenge to Facebook.

2. Facebook advertising

Top 5 social media marketing trends to dominate 2015 pic 2

There’s no doubt that both the cost of this and the demand for this will increase during 2015. This has been a clever strategy on the part of Facebook. The continued weakening of the Facebook post has decreased its effectiveness as a marketing tool. Less posts available to users means that the demand for promoted posts and the ads that go on these pages will increase. This creates a bigger audience for these ads which will result in a bigger price tag and demand for one of these advertising spaces.

3. Twitter and business advertising

It is highly likely than many more businesses will join Twitter during 2015. This is because Twitter now offers much more control over how and what a business pays for in respect of their advertising. A new fee structure ensures businesses pay for performance based actions as opposed to clicks or re-tweets. This will be of particular benefit to the small business owner who can pay for results and not just to ensure brand awareness. The new campaigns will allow businesses to control re-tweets and replies, website clicks, conversions, app installs and new followers. It will be a much more powerful marketing tool.

4. Google+’s decline

Google+ offers nothing new compared to its main competitors – Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Its competitors are already firmly established in their respective niches and Google+ is already in decline. This has been aided by the departure of Google+ chief Vic Gunotra in the beginning part of 2015. In addition to this, Tech Crunch has declared Google+ to be the walking dead. It is quite likely that before the year is out Google+ will simply be seen as a platform and not a product. This will mark the end of its competition with social media sites.

5. Instagram

Founded in 2010 it has grown from strength to strength year after year. It now has 200 million visitors a month. It is the predominant market force when it comes to image based social media marketing. Research suggests that nearly half of the marketers surveyed intend to increase their use of this platform during 2015. Instagram does have competition in the video marketing arena from Vine but it is likely i 2015 that as additional efforts are put into this area of the market Instagram will make significant advances at the expense of Vine. Instagram has also introduced ‘in-feed marketing’. This allows marketers to target an audience based on age, gender and location. This will be of great interest to those who are attempting to capture the young, affluent consumer.

Facebook messenger set to enable money transfers

Facebook messenger set to enable money transfersFacebook messenger will soon make it possible to transfer money between users.

It will be possible for users to send money to family and friends through secure technology that will initially be rolled out to users in the US on the iOS, Android and desktop formats over the coming months.

Users will be able to send money through the service whenever they begin a new messenger conversation by tapping the $ icon, which will prompt them to enter the amount they want to pay and their credit or debit card details.

In order to retrieve money, users will need to open up conversations and tap the “add card” option. When their personal information is entered, money will be transferred instantly, but it could take between one and three working days for it to become available.

After the feature has been used once, people will have the option to add PIN protection to provide extra security for the next time they spend cash, meaning they will not need to re-enter their personal details.

In a blog post, Facebook explained: “These payment systems are kept in a secured environment that is separate from other parts of the Facebook network and that receive additional monitoring and control.

“A team of anti-fraud specialists monitor for suspicious purchase activity to help keep accounts safe.”

Facebook also emphasised that security is one of the top concerns for the team, stressing that the protection it uses will meet the highest security standards possible in the market.

Now that online banking has proven to be an effective way of managing money for many years, more and more companies are looking into online payment services.

The technology could open up new doors for marketers looking to increase their revenue from social media and, in future, it will be interesting to see if Facebook takes the plunge into the retail market.

For this reason, a lot of people fail to realize the money making prospective of blogging and write it off as another Internet trend. This belief is far from the truth.

For earning money through Blogs it’s essential to understand the power of Affiliate program and how an affiliate program can help us to generate revenue. Affiliate programs are one of the most important factors in making money with blogs.

There are two ways that you can generate revenues in Affiliate Program. Either you join an affiliate program or run your own affiliate program. You can sign up for an affiliate program directly or you can join through an Affiliate Program Provider (APP). APPs are a third party provider that collect payment and provide reporting for affiliate providers and their affiliates. AAPs are completely free to join and once you sign up you can promote e-books and other products immediately.

E-books are a natural tie-in to the blogging. When you blog, you are providing information and by offering AAP products you allow your readers to get even more information on the same topic.

After you’ve picked the topic of the blog (hopefully a profitable topic!), look to AAP for ebooks that you can sell as an affiliate.

The AAPs’ site has many helpful statistics that can assist you in determining which products are the most profitable. There are products listed in nine different categories to allow you to narrow down your search. Each product listed has a set of statistics underneath that give you information about the profitability of the product. There is a figure titled “[Earn %]” that lets you know how much an affiliate will receive from each sale.

The “$/earned per sale” cues you into the average amount that affiliates earned per sale. This is the net amount and includes any refunds that the ebook provider may have had to give out. The “% referred” reveals how many of the products were sold through affiliates. “Gravity” tells you how many affiliate have sold the product in the last 60 days. The higher the number, the better. Although you’ll want to avoid products that are flooded in the market, it is important to pick something that is selling well and selling consistently.

Using affiliate programs with Any AAP can be one of the fastest ways to make money through blogging. With a little planning, you can tap into the money making power of blogs and be on your way to Internet riches.

Make Market Launch IT Academy Review Released By eMarketingGurus

Make Market Launch IT Academy Review Released By eMarketingGurus

Why Marketers Shouldn't Be Seduced Into Using Believable Bots

Sex and advertising are usually a reliable mix. Unless, of course, you trick consumers into thinking they might have a chance of hooking up with your deceptive spokesbot masquerading as an online dater.

Willful indulgence in fantasy is one thing, but catfishing potential customers is another.

That’s what the new movie Ex Machina essentially did with a marketing campaign on Tinder, creating a fake profile with a photo of the film’s lovely Swedish star and messaging potential daters. The campaign was part of the movie’s South by Southwest debut in Austin.

After Adweek broke the story, the movie’s marketing effort garnered praise and quite a bit of criticism online. Some marketing experts raised concerns that it was the kind of idea that could take the industry down a dark path, and consumers would not want to come along for the ride.

“The consumer’s point of view seems to get lost here,” said ad veteran Tim Geogeghan, who has been both a creative director and marketing educator. “It’s creative, it’s clever, but take a step back and ask, ‘What do we want to leave people with?"”

He said it would be like tricking a consumer into thinking they were about to get a job opportunity, and then serving an ad for deodorant with some message about staying fresh under pressure.

Ex Machina is about robots and the ability to experience love, so the Tinder promotion did fit the theme. The 25-year-old woman in the profile began by messaging users with this: “Have you ever been in love?” And then continued with further robot-like comments about “humans” and attraction, before sending users to an Instagram page for the movie.

“While this was a great ploy to get people to view the ad for the premiere, it clearly would leave people irritated that they fell for that sort of trickery,” said Ken Wisnefski, CEO of WebiMax, a social media-marketing firm. “Honestly, if that was me who fell for that, I’d feel somewhat embarrassed and would in no way have any interest in going to the movie premiere because I would be irritated the marketing toyed with me.”

The studio that produced the movie, DNA Studios, did not return a request for comment.

On Tinder, daters make a match after they both swipe right on each other’s profiles, allowing them to text one another. Spam marketing has been a problem on the app, particularly from sex-peddling automated accounts that just match everyone and then send messages with links to spam sites.

Of course, Tinder is not alone in unwittingly hosting such tactics. Twitter has long been plagued by millions of fake marketing accounts, often bots, and newcomers like Kik combat similar spam messaging. Facebook, too, has waged an everlasting purge against fake fans.

The movie Ex Machina is simply the latest brand to set up a fake profile and go swiping for an audience. The Gap clothing brand has even set up a promotion on the platform, although it didn’t lead users to believe they were communicating with a potential soul mate.

Talking directly with consumers is an increasingly important component of social media management, and marketing on these new messaging platforms is still new territory. It was unclear if Tinder had any knowledge of the movie campaign before it ran, but in the case of Gap, it did not.

Tinder is still working out how advertising will appear, at least for users who choose the free tier of service. The company could not immediately be reached for comment.

Why Marketers Shouldn"t Be Seduced Into Using Believable Bots

Facebook (FB) to Enhance eCommerce Ads, Buys TheFind

Facebook, Inc. (FB - Analyst Report) recently reported that it has acquired online shopping search engine TheFind Inc., based in California. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

TheFind, launched in 2006, has become a popular search engine for shoppers as it offers personalized search results and recommendations for its users, acting as a bridge between people and products. Facebook intends to tap the potential of the booming e-commerce market by incorporating the capabilities of TheFind in its advertising service.

Facebook will be leveraging TheFind’s technological expertise to make its ads more relevant and in tune with user requirements while simultaneously cutting down on ads that are no longer relevant to users.

On the other hand, TheFind will benefit from the phenomenal exposure of the platform, which will enable it to scale up and drive growth. However, the TheFind website will be pulled off as per the deal.

The social media giant has been eyeing the e-commerce market for a while. However, the company’s prior attempts like Facebook gifts, tie-up with retailers and direct shopping endeavors have not been fruitful.

In fact, the e-commerce market is dominated by key players like Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN - Analyst Report), eBay Inc. (EBAY - Analyst Report) and more recently, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (BABA - Analyst Report) is making itself felt. So adding to its existing capabilities to gradually edge into the space seems like a good idea.

This apart, Facebook has also launched a number of new features and applications for its platform. Launched last month, its Product Ads feature allows retailers and marketers to showcase their product catalogs to people efficiently. Facebook also launched a separate Ad manager app for iOS users.

Most recently, the company unveiled its latest tool called Topic Data which is designed to provide their marketing partners with more information about what their customers are talking about. This in turn will enable marketers to better advertise their products on Facebook and other channels.

The aforementioned acquisition will further boost Facebook’s ecommerce capabilities, supplementing its already-strong and growing advertising business.

In the last-reported fourth quarter results, the company’s advertising revenues soared 58% on a year over year basis to $3.7 billion. The growth was driven by increasing mobile engagement, higher number of marketers, continuing investment in new products and robust performance of its newsfeed ads. Furthermore, of the total advertising revenues, Mobile ad revenues surged 108% to $2.5 billion thus contributing around 69% of total ad revenues.

Recently, Facebook revealed that its active advertisers’ base achieved a milestone by crossing the 2 million mark. We believe that given the platform’s massive user base and access to personal information, the company is just getting started.

Though the news is a positive, it failed to impress this Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company’s investors as shares slid 12 cents (0.15%) in the afterhours trading session on Friday.

Avian hires consultants as part of £250k marketing push

CofE partner also looking to recruit additional sales staff as part of drive to grow revenues

O2 Centre of Excellence partner Avian Telecom has hired two experienced telecoms marketeers as part of a £250,000 marketing push.

Golf course management problem evolves into problem solving business

SHREWSBURY — Andrew Langlois knows first-hand the difficulties small business owners face as they attempt to make sense of the all of their data.

As the manager of several golf courses in the area and chief operating officer for an irrigation supply company, Mr. Langlois, said realized that technology was the solution to improve efficiency. During the economic downturn, he shifted the company’s systems to the cloud, which enabled key employees to focus on the core business instead of managing hardware, software and servers.

That project ignited Mr. Langlois’ passion to assist other businesses. He launched his own company, Synergy Business Solutions, and its first product is Bizhelm, a concierge service tied to ShopKeep, a point-of-sale system for the iPad.

“I am a certified channel partner for ShopKeep,” Mr. Langlois said. “But what we do for our customers is we build the back end, so that when we go to do the installation, all of the stock is already loaded.”

The iPad or iPad mini functions as a register, and business owners can download their reports from the cloud to a laptop or desktop, Mr. Langlois said.

“There is a whole lot of functionality in the system,” he said. “It collects email addresses, and emails the receipt to customers, but it also stores the data so that business owners can do segmented, targeted marketing, which they can then leverage with social media.”

In addition to email marketing, ShopKeep’s functionality includes inventory management, hourly sales tracking and an employee time clock. Mr. Langlois said ShopKeep also connects to QuickBooks, the bookkeeping software used by many small businesses.

ShopKeep is already able to accept both ApplePay and microchip embedded cards, as well as those with magnetic stripes.

“Merchants are going to be required to accept the chip cards by October 1, 2015, so this gets them ready,” Mr. Langlois said. “The chip cards are designed to reduce fraud, which is disproportionately high in the United States. Credit card companies will put the fraud liability back onto merchants, who don’t accept the chip cards.”

Mr. Langlois said that he has been working with ShopKeep since 2011, but he has only been full time with Bizhelm since January 1.

“East Main Automotive in Northboro was one of my early adopters,” he said. “But now have I about 16 clients that stretch across the state from Pittsfield to Hingham, and Rhode Island.”

His clients include independent retailers, salons, spas, ice cream and quick serve restaurants, a vineyard and a country club.

“At the country club, we actually have multiple operations — a bowling alley and a pool — that use our system,” Mr. Langlois said.

Mr. Langlois said that while ShopKeep is available directly from the company, he provides customization services that make it completely ready-to-use.

“The opportunity I saw is that for every business owner who is comfortable ordering ShopKeep direct, there are ten more who want to have an in-person installation,” he said. “The majority of the tools ShopKeep offers are under-utilized, and we can deliver the product in such a way that it makes a business owner a marketing wizard, even if they weren’t before.

“Point of sale is a really critical piece of their business, and the better job we do for them, the better they do.”
